Greetings from Erik Wegweiser: Art alluded to "major internet revisions" for the BMW CS Registry. Quite true. As of 2004-04-20 we packed everything up and moved the whole kit n' kabootle! Web Site: Not to worry! The domain name has not changed; only the physical location of the computer. You won't need to change any bookmarks. In fact, you should hardly have noticed there's been any change. Browsers are being directed automatically to the new address. Mailing List: Of course, we're taking all of you with us! Although we hope to also make this transition as seamless as possible, please note: IMPORTANT: THERE IS NOW A NEW EMAIL ADDRESS FOR THE CSR MAILING LIST. The NEW mailing list information page is at . The NEW email address for posting mesasages to the NEW list is All current members of the old list have been unsubscribed and resubscribed to the new list. After being resubscribed to the new list, you may want to administer your personal settings, including new password, etc. Why the move? Several factors led to this maneuver. Foremost, We've been dissatisfied with the customer service at Art's ISP, which has been hosting the site and mailing list for many years. The company has during that time changed name and ownership numerous times as well, due to bankruptcy and takeover/merger. We owe a lack of mailing list archives to their technical SNAFU. In general, as the company grew from a nice little operation to a small cog in a big virtual machine, we started to feel a bit... under appreciated (well, when tech support tells you 'if you don't like our service, go somewhere else,' what would YOU do?). As Art also recently mentioned, Bruce Leggett, our esteemed webmaster of several years, is turning over the reins, due to increasing demands elsewhere. I would like to add to Art's acknowledgement and appreciation of Bruce's past efforts, and continued assistance he has offered in getting the new webmaster (me) up to speed at the task. Lastly, I have set-up a dedicated server for my own company, and I'm sharing its resources with the BMW CS Registry site and mailing list. We're now co-located in a heavily secured bunker out West. Have a look: http://cam1.forest.net:8080/webcam.html Thanks, Bruce... Although I am an experienced database developer, web site coding and server administration is a challenging new skill set for me. I'll do my best to support the CSR community, but I hope everyone has patience. I'll be administering the system from way over here in Boston, while Art remains head honcho, list moderator, renaissance curmudgeon and wise sage of all things--road worthy and otherwise. For anything automotive, suggestions, complaints, advice... Art's still the guy to write to. I'll just stay down here in the engine room where I can try to keep the shields up and pipes unclogged. And if there are problems with the web site or mailing list, feel free to write to me or art. I do hope to not just maintain the site, but also keep it updated. Please do check-out the new CLASSIFIEDS section, redesigned and built on an interactive database (naturally!). Please note that until later this Summer, only 5 users at a time can access the database simultaneous (sorry!). VERY sincerely, Erik. I'm up in Holland, Mi. ( not too far from you) It would appear that the Midwest and coupes don't mix. However there is a car show coming up in Holland that features older vintage German makes. I will be showing my "75 3.0 CSi sporting it's newly re-furbished 16" Alpina's. The place is AlanChristian Motors. Date May 15 Bring your coupe if it's ready.
