[BMWCSRegistry] : Seats in 3.0CS

All US cars had leather seats, most Euro cars had velour or vinyl or a combination. I think Max Hoffman the US distributor back then specified they all have leather. Or at least I have never seen a US spec car with anything but leather as original.

  All the upholstery is vinyl except for the seats.  I think vinyl or cloth or
  a combination was standard.  Leather was definitely an extra cost option.
  The US distributors seem to have ordered many cars with leather seats since
  they seem to be much more common here than the 'euro' cars.  There were also
  vinyl and cloth combinations with cloth on the parts one sat on.

  My Coupe's OEM upholstery was and is dark blue velour but it is a CSi and
  thus Euro I had it replaced by a local genius using (secret: from a Chrysler
  catalog) almost identical fabric.
  Certainly I do not allow children with dripping noses and ice cream cones
  into it. My two sons are way old enough to know better especially since one
  of them will inherit Ilse some day. :-) Art
