I get the Spam too but if most of  it is only solicitations to invest 
in a sure thing, then consider yourself  fortunate - or unfortunate as 
the case may be.
I get offers  from
"Horny blonde wants to screw your brains out."
"Viagra and other Rx  items for real cheap."
"Congratulations, you've been approved for a  $100,000 low interest loan."
"Just verifying your account at ..."

I  think that every time you respond to one of those free holiday or 
fine  dinner offers, or enter a gigantic sweepstakes or "Nigerian 
refugee seeks  your help recovering $50 Mil",  you are being plugged 
into a Spam  system bank. All the pimps are not on "K Street" nor all 
the whores in  Congress.

For what it's worth, I've been using the same ISP for a couple pof years  and 
haven't noticed any recent uptick in spam.
