Yes, I've been hearing that one for years now (maybe he was just setting
you up for a lowball offer for your beautiful CS?). I think the basis
for this "factoid" is that some of my fellow countrymen here in the US
don't like Germans rather than knowing anything about German cars and
the German car industry. But what really lays waste to this claim is
that in Germany you rarely see older cars like our CS's, tii's, classic
Beetles, etc. The simple reason? They ALL rusted away years ago! The
German dealers didn't even offer undercoating as an accessory as did
many American dealers. My '73 CS was sold new with undercoating and is
as rustfree as the day it was driven from the showroom floor here in the
Pacific Northwest. Besides, I thought it was the Italians who were
behind keeping their "treated" cars in Italy. I'll bet even the Germans
believe that one is true?!
BTW Paul...................NICE CAR! And it appears that you live in a
beautiful part of the country for it to be driven.
