I am glad to see that there are others who race their CSL's. I have had mine (UK spec not fulll batmobile) for over 10 years and afer a mechanical rebuild it has done a lot of track work and has also done a lot of closed road bitchumen rallies that we have over hear - 4 targa tasmanias and about 8 similar events. It has held up remarkably well but I would caution a few points:

brakes - the twin booster set up is quite problematic if it is not in continuos use. I also have spacers and larger disks on the front (from a 7 series I think) and need a lot of ducting to keep them cool.

Roll cage - apart from self preservation, with no B pillar and very slender screen and rear posts there is a need for a strong full cage including cross members to stop them twisting - these can be made to remove them when you are over racing.

Engine - oil surge from the bottom - more baffles and from the top - at full revs the rocker cover fills insert restricters.

Shock mounts - mainyl rear but I believe front also - need to be reinforced.

Diffs - expendable

Usual engine mods - a bit of bore and stroke, cam, a bigger throttle body and anything u can do to make it breathe better.

Body - they are rare and beautiful - DONT SMACK IT. pannels are hard to get and a major exercise, and alloy just doesnt like to be straightened - thank god I have never done any harm.

Good luck
