[BMWCSRegistry] A 2002 question?

I know, I know, we are all about Coupes. But my first BMW was a 1971 1600.  A 
long wonderful relationship I won't bore you with. 
 
I still love the early, chrome bumpered 2002's, especially the tii's and  
would be sorely tempted if I came across the right car.
 
My mechanic has a complete, in the boxes, never installed, air  conditioning 
unit purchased for a long gone 1976 2002. I know, ac is sacrilege.  But it's a 
thought.
 
Two questions: how much is it worth, would it fit the early 2002? He is  
asking $500. Is anyone else interested. If you purchased it, it would resolve  
some issues for me.
