You could try the overpriced Pete Sliskovitch.  Or the overpriced Walloth und Nesch.  Or the overpriced 2002AD (Although I think that's Ben Miller's now too).

Seriously -- you bought a koope.  If you don't like spending stupid amounts of money on unobtanium parts, you should sell it and buy a Bavaria.  There were only about 30,000 e9s built ever.  Probably 80% of those have rusted to nothing.  That you can still buy mechanical parts for relatively cheap is remarkable; it should come as no surprise that e9-specific parts are hard to find and expensive when you do.

Just be glad you didn't buy a 2002.  They built a zillion of those things, and they're so slow you'd be better off in a Beetle, but parts are still expensive.
