I think the big problem rebuilding blowers is finding parts for them.  

What I have found over the years is that it is very common for the bearings
to freeze up.  If you can get some oil into the bearings, the blower motors
will often run fine. 

Same thing with the "sardine can" windows by the way.

Hi, guys.

I'm trying to take care of a few things on my coupe before it's sold.

I'm wondering whether heater blower motors can be rebuilt, and if so by whom
and for how much.  Several years ago a shop told me that they cannot be
rebuilt, but I don't necessarily treat that source as the most reliable.

The blower that was in the car when I bought it four years ago works but is
very loud and grumbly.  Since then, I've bought two used ones that worked
just fine for a few months but then stopped dead.  I'd prefer not to drop
$300++ for a new motor, but I also don't want to keep spending $50-$100 for
a used one if it's just going to blow again.

Thoughts?
