What about the bias against the lowly 4 cylinder variety.

Oh well, in BMW news, I'm slowly looking for another vehicle. I've
currently got a 93 525it and I'm looking for another one or the next body
style touring, even the 3 series. I've got close to 200k on mine and I
commute 120 miles each way to my job in Indy every Saturday and Sunday and
during the week I run a mobile bike shop out of the touring, so I need a
touring, for the space and driveability aspect, and I like the decent, but
not quite so great gas mileage from the touring. So anyway, I test drove a
94 touring with 107k on it from a local/questionable dealership and noticed
a few things, but it was raining and dark out. So I asked for another test
drive this am and took it to Vorderman Motor Werks for an inspection, to run
the codes and get better opinion. Well, once inside the shop, was able to
determine the car had been in an accident and not always the end of the
world if repaired correctly, but not in this case. The left rear door floor
jamb was definitely buckled with a 1/2 inch hump across it. Then trying to
find a place to raise the car on the lift was trying, since the rust on that
side was so bad it made a coupe rust bucket look good. The underside was
really bad. Sad really. Oh well, I'll keep on looking. On another note,
was able to fill up my gas tank for the touring with premium 93 octane fuel
for $1.989 per gallon this am and by this afternoon it was $2.189.

I detect a distinct bias against big-bumpered coupes, not that there's
anything wrong with that. :-)
