[BMWCSRegistry] Period Radio for CSi

Mike

Are you saying that with a booster the distortion at volume would be fairly
acceptable? It looks like the Becker Grand Prix stereo was in fact an option
for the CSi, so I may consider one of those. I believe they were considered
higher quality than the Blaupunkts?

  Tom,

Lots on eBay. Also check German eBay. You can also buy reconditioned
radios from this guy http://www.koenigs-klassik.de/indexe.html. Not cheap
though.

Regarding power, hi-power back then was 5 watts per channel with a fair
amount of distortion at volume. You may find a small booster amp under the
front seat an easy alternative. That's what I have and a couple of strips
of velcro hold it in place.

  Good luck,
  Mike

    Hi

My 1974 CSi was broken into (damaged window frame, vent window, chrome
molding) to steal my stereo (damaged excellent center console, stole
radio
    tray....)

I am seroiusly thinking of getting a good period correct stereo with no
cassette, since these days you can easily play your Mp3 files through
these
radios. I am not a super picky, high-end stereo guy, but I would like to
have a radio that has some decent power (preferably without a booster or
amp) to feed into my 6x9 speakers?

Does anyone know of any good radios from the early 70s that were
originally
supplied for CSis? I wouldn't mind one that was common here in the US,
where
I could retrofit Euro buttons to match the rest of the car.

    Maybe a Becker Grand Prix?

    Thanks for your help,
    Tom Colitt
