You're excused.

When I was that age I would be one of the last with the right to question
that action. One of mine involved a school quadrangle, a friends dad's car,
no drivers licence, too much alcohol and a subsequent (and thankfully
unsuccessful) police investigation!

But I'll deny it if you tell!

Cheers

David.

Where did you leave your head when the decision was taken to pull that one?

David

It was late, on a deserted highway in the middle of nowhere, in a 13 year
old car with questionable gauge accuracy, running extremely low on gas. The
thought of spending the night on the side of the road and a following
morning of hunting down gas wasn't appealing, and the decision to cross to
the other side of the Interstate seemed like a rational alternative. In
fact, I'd do the same today, in the same situation. It is customary to hang
a reflector from those chains, but this one wasn't there, and I didn't know
what I had hit until I hit it.

But sometimes the iffy decisions in life are the ones that lead on down the
slippery slop of stupidity. Rational decision, Laurel and Hardy results. I
was 19 at the time, if that makes a difference.
