Question, does the mechanic prefer a Getrag or a ZF 4 speed? Early E3/9's had ZF gearboxes. I think BMW switched to Getrag in 70 or 71.

My mechanic is searching for a 4-speed for a customer's 2800CS. He is located in NJ north of Lovely Trenton - another one of those sad, dying state capitals.
Feel free to cantact me. Price, shipping, condition?

Subject: [BMWCSRegistry] Badges & Stuff
Steve has provided some info on car badges that I would like to expound upon
(from my vantage point, and experience), just in an effort to contribute a
clear and precise perspective.
I orchestrated the making &selling of a car badge for a faction of the 356
Registry know as the Florida Owners Group (FOG).
I used the club newsletter to start a design campaign and fielded
contributions from the membership for voting by the members at large.
Once a design was selected I contacted Diane at the "Goodie Store" (the same
person Steve has spoken to) and we placed the order with her.
We ordered the base number (50) and sold through completely at $50 each in
relatively short order. I think they're undertaking their second issue soon.
Lot's of demand it seems.
The quality of the seven (7!) color design was excellent and the product
superb. No issues with the badge, and it comes with mounting hardware too.
I fully endorse the process of using the Goodie Store- they were absolutely
great in all respects.
I do not know how many subscribers you have here with the CS Registry, but
you shouldn't have to worry about selling through an order of 50 units.
You will have to pay 50% of the charge up front, and the balance upon
delivery. So factor 'pre-sales' into the thing when you start to sell.
It is a money maker (well, in our instance it paid for itself and left some
extra cash in the kitty for events and stuff.) And paying $50 for a nice
badge is a fair number it seems.
There are also persons out there who collect the things- and they sometimes
buy two or three at a time (just depends upon if they hear about it in
time.) Perhaps a blurb in the "Roundel"?
You can count me in for buying one- AND, I'll do what I can to aide and
assist Steve (or others) in the process.
Good idea Steve! (and, if you talk to Diane again, tell her I said hello!)
Paul.
