Haven't had the car out for a couple weeks.
Always starts up fine, if only taking a little while to get fuel to the
carbs from the tank. This should be considered normal, yes?

I went out for a thirty mile run. Not pushing it, and it was performing with
its usual aplomb. What a great car.

Met the wife at a house she was showing, and parked in the driveway with a
steep, downward angle (nose first.)
Car started okay, and worked fine until about a mile down the road.
Whereupon it died.

I thought- maybe something was blocking the line- so I blew in the fuel link
and could hear bubbles in the tank (which was about half full.)
I sucked a bit and fuel came up- no problem, but the filter bulb was dry.

Must be the mechanical fuel pump not functioning properly?
