[BMWCSRegistry] Transporting vehicles

Thanks Everybody!
As providence would have it, I have located a "group buy" that I can
join to take the 3.0 CSi to Monterey Bay. One of the BMWV&CCCA members
organized transportation from the East coast via Thomas C. Sunday
transporters that will make a stop in Cincinnati on the way to Aptos.
See: http://www.sundayautotransport.com/
This simplifies my scheduling issues in both directions since there are
pre-negotiated mission-specific arrival and departure times in
California. The group of cars being transported seems large enough to
require multiple trucks so there may be some economies of scale
available. The current quote for the gaggle of vehicles is $3,300 per
car for the round trip. I got some quotes from other carriers that were
in the range of $3,800 to $4,100 for the same trip without the
additional issue of guaranteed delivery and return pick up times.
So, I'm pretty happy with the present state of affairs.
Thanks again for all the advice.
Cheers,
Mike

Subject: RE: [BMWCSRegistry] Transporting vehicles
Hi All,
I just enquired at Intercity about taking my 3.0 CSi out to Aptos, CA
next August for the BMWV&CCCA 2008 Marathon. They said "No Vacancy" as
they had already committed 90% of their entire fleet to support
Barrett-Jackson at the Pebble Beach events during the same time frame.
I was pretty disappointed since I had a great experience with Intercity
on a previous occasion.
So, I asked for alternate solutions and Jim Bergeron of Intercity
suggested Horseless Carriage Carriers and FedEx Passport as options.
Anyone have any experiences with either of the above?
Cheers,
Mike
