Concerning your views on the E36 M3 - could not have put it better myself - and why I still find my 1990 E30 M3 Sport Evo the most enduring 'drive' I have ever owned, still used as an everyday car since 1992!. and still I enjoy every drive including 2 or 3 trackdays a year including the Nordschleiffe, just an amazing machine.

Subject: [BMWCSRegistry] 5 Worst BMW's (WOB)
So on that thread...(not coupe, but BMW related)...Here is my list..of BMW's that is.
Some of the following I have owned, some not...but this is for fun, not for flame....
1976 BMW 630i...'cmon...do I need say much more. The lineage of the most attractive BMW made, and they came up with that bloated beast???!! Plus it suffered the thermal reactor issues, the warped heads, the strangled emissions...I can't even remember the last time I ever saw one...not because they are rare, but rather because they were crap, and didn't make it to collector status!!
1976-77 BMW 530i See above and add two doors (although BMW redeemed themselves with the later euro model e12 M535i and Alpina B7...they were awesome).
1974-76 BMW 2002 When Munich got the order to make the bumpers USDOT legal and kill the performance with a catalytic, they should have just ended that great little car right there. I have tried to like these poor cars, but they're the fat chick at the bar next to the pretty one...sure she has a nice personality, but look at the round tail-lights on the one next to her!!!!
1984 BMW 524td Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Sure, BMW was doing diesel marine, and Mercedes had been pumping out crappy 240 & 300d's since the late 70's but why take a lovely e28 sedan, and put that engine in it......although those I have known who know how to keep them running report mileage in excess of 30mpg...not bad.
1995-1999 BMW M3 Yes these are lovely cars, and are now "classics", but 'cmon...following the e30 M3, this car was bloated, overly "gizmatic" way too soft, and the fit and finish...well...sucked(the same crap-ass enviro freindly adhesives as used in my e34 M5....bastards!!) After years of lusting, I broke down, ready to buy one. I test drove 3 different cars, all near mint condition, and was terribly disappointed. The interior felt crampt, the trim felt cheap and plastic and the thing didn't wind up like or feel nearly as tossible as the e30, in fact it was just a quick, good looking car...that's it...how dissapointing!...I guess the e30 WILL always be the "real M3".
So there is my 5...hope I didn't offend...

Hey, we all make mistakes and suffer lapses in taste and judgment - now called senior moments. I would like to forget the day I fell in love with a colleagues 1978 Chrysler Le Baron. Yes it had a lovely green vinyl roof and no it did not have rich Corinthian Leather, whatever that was.
But when I almost rolled that sucker on a curve I would never have noticed in my Coupe it was time to get rid of it. My son who has owned a Dodge Datonya(sp) and Ram among a dozen or so rides, has never forgiven me.
I would like to see a list of the five or ten cars we have owned, sold and grieved over. Mine might begin with a 1964 Chevrolet Impala two door hardtop in a light green paint and interior.
