[BMWCSRegistry] 5 Worst BMW's (WOB)/FF

I also love my 1995 M3 E36 - Silver.  I have the feeling that every 
M3 owners thinks his/her was the last best before BMW ruined the 
idea.  (4 Door M3 "coupes", Bangleadesh styling, etc.)

BUT because of my decided E9 preference and a modest need to cut some 
expenses and raise a few K, it's on the market.   No, my mortgage is 
NOT with huge Country Wide which just sacked 12,000 employees (20%) 
but they keep running alluring ads on TV.
The easy credit, low interest, fast approval routine. And Di Tech is 
still out there every 15 minutes with their teeny tiny, flash by in 5 
seconds, small print.

Gretel is in almost excellent condition, Silver,  5 speed,  50K , 
Sunroof, always garaged, no Winters, etc. No phony looking polished 
wood - all black leather.

Why? Well the E36 is a rocket (with no mods) and a fun ,fine driver 
provided the road is dry.
With some puddled water, the universe changes. It gets quite 
squirrily  and one becomes a good citizen and Geo Metros and such 
pass it .
(Oh yes sneering little Geo Metro, I want to do 10 under the 
Interstate speed limit - just chilling after whipping a Ferrari and 
watching the scenery on the NJ Turnpike - yeah.)

They hadn't invented all the electronic anti skid and stabilizer 
things that makes one think he or she is a better driver than they 
are. ABS only.

And skinny sidewall, wide tires with the rim just barely off the road 
scare me. And it is a bit too much of surround encapsulate the driver 
and confining because I am used to the wide open and airy feeling 
Coupe that also attracts a lot more attention on the road,  "look 
Martha, another pricey BMW- shouldn't that old guy in it be driving a 
Buick and wearing golf cap?"

If you haven't checked, the BMW listed in "Time" with Renault 
Dauphine, Trabant, Yugo (ad nauseum) among the 50 worst is a 7 series 
with iDrive.  A rather harsh judgement but I have tried the thing and 
it is an abomination of over engineering.

Coming shortly, my brief take on an X3 loaned to me while Ilse was 
getting several hundred $$ of maintenance.  I try not to drive it 
down our main street lest I be recognized '"We pay them damn 
Perfessors too much, Martha ."
