Couperini,

As requested by several subscribers and members, I attach the following.

The paint I use is Krylon Dull Aluminum. Avoid Rustoleum, unless they
have changed the formula, it doesn't look quite as good and takes too
long to dry.

First find a place and a time where there is absolutely no wind - a
garage is certainty the best. Then:

(1) Clean the tires and wheels as best you can and make sure they are
thoroughly dry.

(2) Get some wide masking tape and run it carefully around the rim
between the wheel and the tire. It will take several short pieces
since you are following a circle with a straight tape. Use plenty and
get it in securely. At first it is a bit tedious but you will get the
hang of how to do it.
Also pop off the center BMW cap (assuming you have the stock 5
spokers as on my Coupe) and tape over the axle nut.

(3) Stuff paper towels into the wheels to protect the brake pads and
cylinders from spray.

(4) Get an old sheet and tape it in place to protect the fenders from
over spray.

(5) Practice a bit with the spray can and then hit the wheels with a
light coat - moving fairly fast.
Wait a little bit and then hit it again. Take a good look for
accidentally excessive spray and drips on the wheel and wipe them
smooth with a paper towel. You can fix that on the next spray run.
For a third time, spray to get any places that appear not covered.

(6) Let it set for a few minutes while you move on to the next tire
and then peel the masking tape off and check for minor over spray on
the tires. Easily removed with a paper towel and some solvent.
Make sure all the towels stuffed in to protect the brakes are out of
the wheels.

Should be good for several years depending on weather and driving
conditions and storage when not in use.
