When I worked in DC and lived in Georgia (long commute) I made certain my Escort was turned off anytime I was in Virginia for exactly that reason Jim. I wasn't even speeding in NC once when a state trooper followed me for at least ten miles, because it was turned on when I first noticed him. It did save me a few times though.

That's pretty cool. I still have my Escort from the '80's. Never failed me, except once, when I couldn't hide it fast enough from the VA police, and got ticketed just for having one. With the legal limits at 70+, I don't feel the need anymore. But back in the double nickel days...
