Just a couple 'o thoughts. There are street tires and track tires and
the two are seldom interchangeable. The aggressive street tire is no
match for a dedicated track tire and a dedicated track tire is less than
ideal on the street. As long as you are going to have a second set of
wheels, a set of track tires will make your on track experience much
more enjoyable (read faster lap times). Hoosier and Kumho make good DOT
track tires in 14" and 15". Hankook and Toyo also make track tires but
I've not used them so cannot comment. If you drive your car to the
track be prepared to change wheels. It's a bit of an inconvenience but
well worth the effort.
