I gave it a good try but got ill after about half way through photos
of these immense piles rotted and rusted junk that people propose to
work on. Relics of war to be restored? Why?- we have lots of brand
new ones and more created every day.
Anybody is quite free to spend their time, money and talents on
anything they somehow find fun but, short of restoring the gigantic
Japanese battleship Yamato from the bottom of the Pacific, which
would truly be a unique relic of history worth spending billions on,
restoring one of thousands of old tanks thus far rates high on my
personal list of stupidity,
What will they do with these things then?
Run at Homecoming parades tearing up the tarmac (they do - I saw it
happen right around here).
Good way to help developers knock down old houses regardless of where
the people who live there might go.
It's also a great way to escape the wife and kids too - "gotta work
on the tank, today sweetie".
Anyone restoring a Coupe may be a nut case but anyone attempting to
restore a Sherman tank is a potential psychopath. Surely somewhere
in a barn is a nice Sherman in good shape or in Germany an even
better Tiger.
