Hound,
That Allison/Crane has been in so long I forget what model. Probably 
a good idea to upgrade pretty soon. All things do wear out.

I never noticed if it made any difference in fuel use.  Could not 
tell anyway because  (1) the odometer reads in km, (2) it only goes 
to 5 digits before returning to 00.00 and (3) it quit working a few 
years ago.
If I have any thought of messing with the dash to fix it, then my 
years are indeed catching up with me and buy me a Buick.

I did get more urge out of the Allison/Crane, specially at high RPM 
when the points tended to float. Not a good thing to have when 
passing some schmuck busy babbling on a cell phone on a two lane road.

As for the fan, absolutely 9 blades is the way to go.  Overheat that 
head and you are in deep shit.

Art  - Ilse got her first bath of the year today. Also a nice new 
shiny battery. At least the lead is not in toys sent from our buddies 
in China.
