[BMWCSRegistry] Ignition, odometer & fan blades

I agree with Art that the ignition replacement is a great idea.   I put a Petronix in mine (can look up the model number if interested) and while I did not notice any fuel savings (not exactly a priority on my coupe) it did perk up the engine.   It starts better, runs better at both low and high RPMs.

I have to disagree with Art about the 9-blade.   I upgraded when my old broke and wish I had stuck with the 5-blade.  The 9-blade was a hair thicker (1/8" perhaps) which caused it to rub under braking and load.   As a result I've had to rig up new radiator attachments that moved it as far foward as possible.   I'd clean up the cooling system instead - re-core the radiator, flush, make sure the water-pump is in good shape, the fluid good, and that the oil is good.   Clean the block of sludge as well.
That being said, I live in a relatively temperate NJ so I can't say that the car is all that stressed by hot weather.
