[BMWCSRegistry] Ignition, odometer & fan blades

Ulf,
My 9 blade has been in for years and the engine has survived idling 
for hours in Chicago traffic.
Previously the needle sometimes rose real scary close to the red.
No, I have no AC but the temperature gauge (yes, BMW still does give 
us one of those, I think)
stayed flat in the middle while dozens of those around us were almost 
exploding with in plumes of steam.

I've been in NJ many times and lived in NYC for years and some 
summers can be as hot, humid and unpleasant as Orlando except no 
Magic Kingdom and a night's lodging in Secaucus is cheaper than
central Florida.

If your fan is rubbing, then you may have some some soft engine 
mounts or a radiator bracket with play in it or a pulley whose 
bearings are giving up. There indeed is very little clearance between 
some moving parts under there. Yours is the first I've heard of a 
problem with the 9 blade which I have been recommending for years.

I think your Coupe is giving you a warning of something not good going on.
