[BMWCSRegistry] Freon in AC

Thanks Charlie. All I found at the regular stores is the PAG oils (for 134a)
or an oil that is designed for 134a and that will tolerate traces of r12,
but it specifically says "only for use with r134a systems". I don't know if
that would work well in an all R12 system...

I have read elsewhere that R12 systems used "mineral oils" and one that said
30W, but I have no idea what they may mean as it pertains to Freon
compatible oils...

Tom

Your local auto parts store ought to have the correct lubricant for each
coolant separately, but there is/are now a lube for both.

Subject: [BMWCSRegistry] Freon in AC

Hi

I have decided to use the freon I have stock for many years in my AC system,
but I do not have the correct lubricant to use for the compressor. Does
anyone remember what lubricants were used on R12 automotive applications?
Even better, wasn't there a lubricant that was compatible with R12 AND R134a
(I case I have to switch)?

Thanks a lot, Tom
