Couperini,
Given the several messages regarding Dan's damage problem that have
come by, copied below FYI is my reply to him. Note especially a few
questions I had that have not as yet been answered about the
circumstances.
Such information may not help Dan but could be of substantial use to
the rest of us at such time as we choose to transport a Coupe (or a
Ferrari).
>Dan,
>I appreciate your seeking advice from me but I have neither
>practical nor professional experience in such legal matters and thus
>cannot presume to offer an opinion. To be truthful,I have more than
>a mild distaste for much of how our legal system operates and,
>although better than most others in the World, it is rapidly
>deteriorating and sometimes from the very top down. But that is a
>personal experience and opinion gleaned from many decades of
>watching how things are moving in our USA.
>
>What I suggest is that you describe your situation to the CSR
>membership on line and ask their opinion. I do know we have several
>attorneys as subscribers or members. As far as I know, they are
>mostly competent and honest and some may even offer their assistance
>for little or no charge. CA seems to have a surplus of legal experts.

IMPORTANT QUESTIONS:
>>Hey - wasn't the car insured before being transported?
>>Did you not receive a detailed listing of the condition of the car
>>prior to loading?
>>No photos?
>>And what sleazy outfit did you use so others may be warned away
>>from the pond scum.
>>Was it a closed transport van?
>>What happened to generate such damage?
>>
>>I've shipped Coupes four times via Interstate with nary a problem
>>and at a decent rate. They were treated as if they were the
>>Ferarri's which also were riding along on their closed transport.
>>My Coupes were also insured by Hagerty. In my opinion a most
>>reliable outfit. If you meet their mostly reasonable requirements
>>(especially no commuting use) then the rates are really low and no
>>hassle if a claim.
Art
>Let us know how you make out and you do have my sincere sympathy.
